Approach

How we develop software.

Four principles guide every product decision at 9VII — from the first sketch to the hundredth update.

Solve the real problem.

Software should begin with a problem someone actually has. We spend time understanding the situation before writing code, and we’re willing to drop ideas that don’t hold up.

  • Define the problem in one sentence
  • Learn from the people who have it
  • Say no to features without a clear reason

Remove unnecessary complexity.

Every option, setting and screen has a cost. We look for the simplest design that fully solves the problem, and remove whatever doesn’t earn its place.

  • Fewer steps to the outcome
  • Sensible defaults over configuration
  • Plain language over jargon

Build for reliability.

People depend on software at work. It should be fast, predictable and available when it’s needed — today and years from now.

  • Performance budgets from day one
  • Tested, observable systems
  • Code written to be maintained

Improve through real use.

Launch is the start. We learn from how products are actually used and refine them steadily, without breaking what already works.

  • Small, frequent improvements
  • Changes guided by real feedback
  • Stability over novelty

Less noise.
